Its the first report of the new year. Hello 2025!

A busy start to the year.

First up we start with NY eve, and Ian Scott who ran a 10km for Mareham 10km. This was Ian's first race in 2 years, running this fantastic 10km race. Ian finished in a time of 57:15 which is fantastic. Congratulations and we wish you a speedy knee recovery!

On NYD, the club celebrated their 10th anniversary. The club has been racing for 10 years. What an incredible achievement! The Cleethorpes NYD 10km. Luke Haynes completed the NYD 10km race in 5th overall place, and 1st for SADRC. Luke ran a PB time of 34:14 which is amazing, congratulations Luke! Luke was followed by Lee Mullan in 34:49 and Jake Massy in 36:42.

For the ladies, Jenny Hunt ran 48:10 crossing the line first for the SADRC ladies. Followed by Janet Harmston in 51:12 (first in the age category) and Alex South in 52:41.

We had 20 ladies take part in this race. Its always great to see such good numbers for this race on NYD, what a great way to start the year!

Following this weekend, the club took on the famous Biscathorpe XC. The Lincolnshire Cross Country Championships 2025. Luke Haynes, Mark Sands and Amy Mitchel. Luke finished 7th and the 5th senior male. The course was 5.70 miles long with only 6 water jumps but Luke finished in 38:54. Mark finished in 49:30. Lots of mud and very very wet! Well Done to you three!

Oundle 10km was next on the agenda. We had the fab 5 take on this course in very very cold conditions. Andrew Thompson crossed first for SADRC in a time of 39:07 followed by Jonathan Francis in 47:33. Leanne Rickett crossed in 54:04, quickly chased by Joanne Thomas in 55:41 and Clare Harness in 1hr00 and a few seconds. The photos look so cold, and well done to Darren who stood cheering the SADRC runners home, and taking some fantastic photos!

Club nights have been back this week which is fantatsic to see!

Horncastle: Monday @ 6:30pm

Splisby: Tuesday @ 6:30pm

Its been great over Christmas and New Year to get some time off running but also running with friends from different club sites running new challenges.

Becki Atkinson on Sunday ran another marathon in preparation for her Ultra and was joined by a whole host of club members which was so wonderful to see. So much support but also so many inner achievements too, like members running their first half marathons!
