Sunday 17th October
Skegness runners were out and about in force this weekend.
Becky Hobson and Robin Harrison took on Edinburgh Ultra Marathon this weekend. What a run! Becky completed the VLM a couple of weekends ago with Robin, so both have already done long distances this month already! They completed the race together in just under 9hours with Carol Harrison as a fantastic marshal for the race. A really great run from both runners. Becky only completed her first Ultra last year, and we do say, it does become an addiction!
Guy Hatton cannot resist the cold weather of England, so once again swapped the glorious sunshine for the foggy rain of York to complete his 64th Marathon. York claims to be the flattest marathon in the uk, but I think with Boston on our door step, we tend to disagree with that! Amy Mitchell also attended this run, along with Guy, running their 2nd marathon in a month. Guy finished this weekend 20 minutes faster in 4hr45. An excellent run, and great to see you back in the UK. Amy finished in 4hr48, another amazing run from Amy!
Mark Sands ran at Bedford Autodrome this weekend. A very windy course of repeated laps of 5km. Any lapped course can be very tough, especially with specific weather conditions but Mark finished the race first, a great win on a very different distance course.
A fast and flat marathon, and the place where the 4 minute mile was achieved, the Oxford Half Marathon was on and Carol Daulat took part with husband Will. Carol finished in a time of 2hr49 with Will crossing the line in 2hr13.
Thorsby Leaf Kick was on this weekend. This event last year was the last event before Covid take 2 so it was lovely to see so many other events on at the weekend. There were different distances available at the weekend. Julie Goodwin ran the half marathon finishing in 2hours 35 aswell as Kirsty Boulton who finished the race in 2hr05 which is a brand new PB which smashes out her last PB last week! Well Done!! Alan Fountain ran the 10 mile event along with Dave Kenyon (1hr22) and Roenel Kenyon (2hr05). The 10km option was ran by Elaine Blaire (1hr18) and Gill Parkes (1hr31). What a fantastic run by you all finished with a beautiful wooden medal. It’s a great event and pleased everyone enjoyed it.
There was also a social run this Sunday at South Ormsby with different distances to suit everyone. It was well attend by the club, and great to be able to run together somewhere a bit different and off road, all good prep for X Country!
Well Done SADRC, another FANTASTIC WEEKEND!!!
