Sunday 1st September
Becki Atkinson & Steve Dowse swapped one seaside for another as they travelled to Hornsea for Grim up north’s out and back on the trans Pennine trail. Steve finished first in the 10km in 36.07, 8 seconds ahead of 2nd after a close race throughout. Becki found the humid marathon tough but as part of her ultra training found the resilience to finish only just outside her goal pace.
Moving away from beaches and sand castles as Dean, Tracey and Elaine had the real thing. They all completed the Belvoir 10km in the stunning castle grounds of Belvoir castle.
Over to Derbyshire where Wilne 10km described as flat and fast lived up to its billing as Chris Hurst got a new shiny PB of 43.23 and a very respectable position of 233 in a stellar field.
There has also been a host of mid week races over the last 2 weeks as the various series concluded.
At Croxby over the one lapper SADRC’s sole representative Paul Jackson was as strong as ever on the hilly course finishing 7th in 27.39.
Lincoln Wellingtons 5k series finale featured the fantastic four of 9th place Lee Mullen (15.56), 21st Steven Dowse (17.30) who had earlier in the night raced the mile race achieving a sub 5 minute pb and finishing 9th, 29th Phil weaver (17.56) with an incredible new PB joining the sub 18 club and 35th Rob Rawdon (18.29).
The previous week had Click em 5 miler on an unprecedented Monday night. As always there was a big club turnout with our finishers being Paul Jackson (30.22), Joanne Thomas (41.24), Sally Sharp (46.32), Lora Robinson (47.38) Laura slater (48.27), Claire Harness (49.14) and Annabel Bradley (51.40).
